How to pick your Frogans address(es)

Frogans addresses follow a simple pattern. You have to choose the network name first and, if possible, register your site name in that network.

If you are an individual or a small business

You may need one Frogans address or two. Your best option is to pick that address in the network named “frogans”, also called Public Frogans Network (PFN in jargon).
Your site name can be the name of your business, your location, or any community or initiative you may be part of. Really, you can pick pretty much any name up to 28 characters on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are a professional

Your company may need a large number of Frogans addresses, and you want these addresses to be fully branded. Your best option is to pick your own network, also called Dedicated Frogans Network (DFN in jargon), and later register your site names in it.
Your network name can be your company, brand, product, service, but also your business category or any concept you are interested in. Really, you can pick pretty much any name up to 28 characters on a first-come, first-served basis.

Your Frogans addresses are protected

Names that could be confused with your registered network and site names cannot be registered. Examples:
  • NewYorkCity is the same as NEWYORKCITY (the case does not matter)
  • RlCHARD (with lower case “l”) and RICHARD (with upper case “i”) are the same
  • 宁 is considered the same as 寧 (宁 and 寧 both mean “peaceful, calm”, in simplified and traditional Chinese)
  • app (in Latin letters) and арр (in Cyrillic letters) are considered identical
